Hello there! Welcome to Cask Half Full, a blog dedicated to all things Irish whiskey. If you want to read reviews of different whiskeys, read my tasting notes or look at pictures of whiskey bottles you've come to the right place!
So who am I? I'm Lucy, a 30-something mostly Londoner who now calls Birmingham (the UK one not the Alabama one) my home. Like a lot of Brits I have a bit of Irish blood in me; my maternal grandmother's family are from County Offaly, and over the past few years I've developed what I would call a healthy obsession with Irish whiskey. Who knows, maybe my ancestors were distillers at some point.
I've started this blog as a way of sharing my tasting note and reviews of the various whiskeys I'm trying. I'm also hoping to include trip reports from distillery visits when travel allows (Birmingham is only an hours flight from Dublin, which is super handy). I'm also hoping to visit places where you can taste whiskey outside the comfort of your living room and maybe even share a bit about the history if Irish whiskey.
